The Valley Burner

The Valley Burner

A brand new 2day MTB event for the Shropshire Hills

Following on from the success of the inaugural Valley Burner in 2021, 2022 sees a completely revamped event offering more choice, new tracks and most importantly more fun, running over the 23rd & 24th July

Hosted in the stunning Tanat Valley just outside Oswestry on the Shropshire/Wales Border, the hills around the local area have played host to MTB greats such as the Atherton’s, Neil Donoghue, Tahnee Seagrave, Matt Walker and many many more!, so you can be assured of some great trails and a true bike loving vibe!

Alan Lewis, the founder of The Valley Burner and owner of Adrenaline Sporting Events explains:

‘I’ve been hosting running and road cycling events for some years now and I was getting badgered to put on an MTB event.  So, in 2021, we launched The Valley Burner as an endurance XC event.  Alongside this event we had junior events and an event village’

‘It was a leap of faith’ Alan goes on to say, ‘but with support from the local community and influential bike industry friends the event was a roaring success’

For 2022 the event schedule and format has changed, most notably moving from a one-day event to a two-day event taking place over 23rd & 24th July, with the addition of a music festival to keep things lively.

Day one sees a Mini Burner event for 14-16yr olds, followed by the adults XC Challenge.  A balance Bike race is then followed by a Dual Slalom event to end the day with a super competitive, fun, arena style race, leading perfectly into Band & Beers!

Day two sees the Mash Up Enduro taking place on fresh new trails with 3 stages open from 10am-3pm, so you can get as many laps in as you can to get yourself up the leaderboard.

Adrenaline sporting events have raised over £160k for local charities with the help of the events and their large band of supporters including Marin Bikes, The Trailhead Bicycle Company, JTech Suspension, Unite CO, RockGuardz, InvisiFRAME, POC, PinnedTV, Lee Morgan Artworx & Fenwicks Bike Cleaning to name but a few!
